I have been waiting for a while to finally find the time to sit and blog this session. I loved working with this amazing #LRPBoudiebeauty. She was one of the very first boudoir sessions I shot way back in the day and I have loved watching the evolution of our work together!
You know how everyone has those friends that they send all of their “internet things” to? Ie: Fashion, inspiration, ideas, etc. If you were to scroll my IG messages about 75% of them would be this babe and I just sending inspiration back and forth to each other.
Our last session together, back in January we decided that we wanted to pay an ode to some of the original playboys and bring a vintage film vibe to our session. We drove out to Roxburry, the funkiest little retro lime green hotel in the mountains and had a girls night of dinner, hair, makeup, lots of snacks, and shooting off the cuff.
I love this session and what it reminds me of. It reminds me that not everything we do needs to be meticulously planned. That sometimes the best nights come when you just hop in the car and go on an adventure and that creation can often be the same way. Much like our NYC Experience, I went into this session without too much of a plan and just allowed myself to create based off of what I saw in the present moment. I even did the hair and makeup for this session, which I must say I am pretty darn proud of!
This is one of the benefits of being a return client. When I know you more we can take these adventures together and create something new together. The art we create together can evolve.
I like to think that every year I become a better photographer and thereby deliver a completely different product.
This session I really had a good time experimenting with color and tone and texture and light.
So take a step back in time with me and check out our Night at the Roxburry
