What is Boudoir?

I have been spending alot of time this past week researching SEO, and as I do, it has caused me to put myself into the mind of our clients….alot. 

I found it really interesting that multiples times in researching as soon as I typed Boudoir into google, this question popped up. “What is Boudoir?”  It took me a moment to process, because it is such a deep part of my life and identity that I couldn’t imagine there were women out there who didn’t know about this life changing experience. 

At the same time as having this moment, I thought back to all of the times in professional photography groups that this same question has been asked and argued. 

What is boudoir?

Well, while in the photography community the jury is still out on a direct definition, for me is a pretty simple one. 

Boudoir photoshoots are art that features the raw and genuine feminity of the woman being photographed. Boudoir is the experience of being scared out of your mind to take sexy pictures when you have never seen yourself as the type of person to be able to take a sensual photo, and then still showing up the morning of your shoot. 

Boudoir is not just about taking sexy photos for your husband. 

It is about creating art that honors who you are as an empowered woman.  

It is about honoring who you are, through an intimate glance from the boudoir photographers eye, as raw female power. 

It is about having a Self Love Experience.
